Hello all,

Now that the clean up of the Shelley lavas is complete, I want to send a note to tell you how grateful I am for all the hands that pitched in to make the event a success.  I counted about 38 people that showed up and helped us fill the dumpster, 2 trailers, and drag out 2 cars! (pictures attached)  After the cleaning was complete, many stayed to play and had an enjoyable time.  The BLM was grateful to have such a great group to help keep the lands clean.  They stayed for the playing past and he had a blast.   Thank you to all who helped!!!

Looking ahead:

May 30-31

We have a club camping trip and trail ride to Mackey, Idaho planned for May 30th-31st.  We will camp Friday night and then have a very scenic run on Saturday.  These have always been a blast for those that participated.  We are trying to get a count of people going so Please RSVP by calling Chad at 208 390 8365 or replying to this email.

June 7th

The first Saturday in June will be our club BBQ/tech inspection at Scott Johnson’s house.

As always, I am grateful to be part of a group that enjoys getting out as much as I do and I look forward to the trips!!!

Chad Cannon

President's Note

Dear SRO member,
As the President of the club this year, I wanted to send an email out letting you all know what we have on tap this year. I am really excited about it. This year we would like to make co-operation with BLM and Forest Service a Priority. As they finalize their RMP's (route management plans) and Inventory the roads/trails, we want to be included and make sure we have a say in the process. We will be spending time with maps and GPS units, out in new areas making sure we have some great scenic trails open for public use. One area where we have been asked to help is the Hell’s Half-acre area. We will be trying to create a trail(s) that will be able to be used by all. The BLM has also asked us to help clean up that area.

At the last meeting we asked for ideas from all of you; things you would like to see the club do, or be involved in. We had things tossed around like BBQ’s, mine explorations, fundraisers, parades, show and shines, and community service projects.  We are even working on a private rock-filled obstacle course.  All in all, it promises to be a GREAT year!

Our next meeting will be Thursday, March 27th at Godfathers pizza in Idaho Falls.  Time is 7:00.  For those who haven’t paid dues…get them in and help our club grow into a positive voice for land use in the community.  If you have any questions or concerns, Please don’t hesitate to call either myself or one of the other officers.
